tire pressure for Z32?

Postby parky » Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:31 am

I recently bought a 1993 Z32 convertible, and am trying to figure out the right tire pressure. I just installed some Michelin Pilot tires (16" wheels). The tire manual says to refer to the car manual. My car manual says to look at a sticker in the center console, but there is no sticker there. The normal door sill stickers are also missing. Any suggestions?

Just a quick search (nico forums) .. I found 33 front / 36 rear for a '90 z32 as being the recommended tire pressure.

Thanks! I had been running 35 psi all around, and the proper setup does feel a bit better.

Dry Nitrogen at 35 psi is the perfect combination :D It also holds a stable pressure and doesn't expand or contract in the varying temps as does w/O2. The highest I ever had it grow to was 37psi in the dead heat of freeway in Gilroy summer-time after 6 hours of roadwork.

O2 on the other hand expands and contracts @ about 5-7 pounds...cold to hot. I have the tires calibrated to 35 psi all around and now in the after noons heat and driving about 20 miles it registers at 39-41 psi equally all around. However, Too much pressure will ruin tires as fasst as too little will!

Oh yeah, as a standard, Costo uses dry nitrogen and lets you use their touch up refils for free. just tell them you bought the tires from them. (I did)

Lastly some dealers will not mix air with nitrogen. Causes an uneven air pressure balance in tires which cost a lot for the Z!
How do they know what type of mixture? Green caps for nitrogen, standard black for O2!

hope this answers the question
